The New Party (Turkish: Yeni Parti, styled as YENİ Parti) is a social democratic political party in Turkey, founded by Özgür Özel following his removal as chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP) by a controversial judicial ruling in May 2026. A splinter of the CHP, it was launched as a contingency plan for a potential snap election. The party has since become the main opposition in the Turkish parliament following the mass defection of former CHP MPs, making it the second largest parliamentary group. The jailed mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem İmamoğlu, announced his full support for the newly created party shortly after its founding.
