Eccentricity (also called quirkiness) is unusual or odd behavior which deviates from normal behavior. This behavior would typically be perceived as unusual or unnecessary, without being demonstrably maladaptive. People who consistently display benignly eccentric behavior are labeled as "eccentrics".
