biolca

Machine-translated from the Italian article

The biolca is a unit of agrarian surface measurement not belonging to the International System, used in various areas of Emilia, the Mantua area, the Pavia area and other neighboring areas. It corresponds to the surface area of land that was estimated could be plowed in one day of work with a plow pulled by two oxen. In this sense, it is similar to the tornatura.
